I've been travelling in the Sahara since 1982 and have occasionally run tours there since '88. I organise small group expeditions to little-visited places that inspire me, mostly in Algeria and working with local guides I've got to know and trust over the years. Over the last few years I ran an Eclipse tour in Niger, the first known 4WD crossing of the Saharan Empty Quarter from the Atlantic to the Libyan frontier, and a couple of motorcycle tours. No two tours of mine are ever alike. I don't have a regular programme or brochure, nor do I stick to easily-repeated itineraries. I don't collect mailing lists, send out promotional newsletters or advertise elsewhere. This page is all there is.

I've recently returned from a camel trek to the Amguid crater in Algeria for Simoon Travel and may do it again with them this November and for sure in January 2010. Their Crater Trek may well become an annual feature. Then in February 2010 I have a one-month 4WD tour through rarely visited western Algeria (currently waiting list only). I also have plans to organise a longer, 4-week camel trek in Algeria in the next year or two. If you're interested please get in touch.
