I've been travelling in the Sahara since 1982 and occasionally run tours there. I organise small-group expeditions to little-visited places that inspire me, mostly working with local guides I've got to know and trust over the years. Recently I ran an Eclipse tour to Niger, the first known 4WD crossing of the Saharan Empty Quarter from the Atlantic to the Libyan frontier, and a couple of motorcycle tours. No two tours of mine are ever alike. I don't have a regular programme or brochure, nor do I stick to easily-repeated itineraries. I don't collect mailing lists, send out promotional newsletters or advertise elsewhere. This page is all there is.

I'm currently in Algeria for Simoon Travel and will be leading their third Amguid crater trek in January 2011. I also intend to run my own two-week fly-in tour to the Tenere in Niger in February 2011, replicating the classic 2006 Eclipse route. Recognising that the 2-week Amguid Crater trek ends just when you're getting onto it, I've also plans for a longer 4-week camel trek in Algeria in the next year or two.
