Buchanan travelled by camel between Kano and Tougourt (via Aïr, Tenere and Hoggar) partly with Rodd in the 1920s. This is his version of the journey which begat of Rodd's famous People of the Veil study of the Kel Aïr. Many mono plates and illustrations, a nice cover and he even made a film.
